To alleviate the pains currently being experienced on Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing has announced the closure of the bridge from motoring public for repairs.

Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, who disclosed this, in a statement, yesterday, said the closure takes effect from Saturday, October 21, by 12 midnight to 12 midnight of Sunday, October 22 .

According to her, the palliative works on the most critically failed sections along the Adeniji bound carriageway were needed preparatory to comprehensive repair works planned by the Federal Government.

“In view of the foregoing, the motoring public are advised to cooperate with the traffic management officials by obeying and observing all diversions as directed.

“However, motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible during the period of the palliative works as the Adeniji bound of the bridge will be closed to traffic from Saturday, October 21, by 12 midnight to 12 midnight of Sunday, October 22,” she added.
