Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned hearing to December 5 on a matter brought before it by a lawmaker, Edison Ehie, seeking to restrain Martin Amaewhule from presiding over the activities of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The presiding judge, Justice Phoebe Ayua, adjourned the case to enable parties in the matter to serve processes on each other after the parties informed the court of difficulties in serving the processes.
When the matter was mentioned, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), K.C.O Njemanze informed the court of his appearance to replace the counsel representing the second Plaintiff, Edison Ehie.
Njemanze’s oral application was, however, objected by the lead counsel to the applicant, N.O. Akporuvweku, who has been in charge of the case. Akporuvweku argued that they had not been served any notice of change in counsel and insisted they remain the defendants for the plaintiff.
