I won’t develop Edo State on social media, says Anamero

Anamero
Ahead of Edo State 2024 Governorship Election, the member representing Etsako Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Dekeri Sunday Anamero, has said the much-touted development in the state is only visible on social media.

Anamero, who is seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination, yesterday said he would not hire social media influencers or bloggers to build Edo schools on social media platforms and fix roads on Facebook to cover up failures.

He spoke when he flagged off his campaign, just as he charged the people to beware of ill-prepared aspirants.

The APC chieftain also cautioned against politics of turn-by-turn, saying turn-by-turn politics would be dangerous for a collective polity, economy and the survival of the state.

He said reducing Edo State to “mere turn-by-turn politics and showcasing projects on social media or Facebook is another ploy to hoodwink people, home and abroad, to believe all is well in the state.”
