Anti-terrorism group raises alarm over move to sabotage Tinubu led administration

Members of the Coalition against terrorism yesterday rose from an emergency meeting raising the alarm of subterrene plot to sabotage the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.

Led by Mr Terrence Kuanum, the group at a press conference in Abuja pointed accusing fingers at the leadership of the opposition New Nigeria Peoples party (NNPP) bent on holding on to power in Kano state as masterminds of the plot.

The group claimed that the plot is becoming manifest with pockets of protest by few rioters in the guise of protesting the Appeal Court Judgment which confirm the sacking of Abba Kabir Yusuf as Governor of Kano State.

“More worrisome is the order to kill non indigenes residents in Kano State and possibly destroy some selected houses of opposition leaders and kill them as well, in a view to spark war in Nigeria,” it claimed.

According to the group, the main target is to discredit the image and administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and theme him incompetent to govern the country.

The group noted that it was unfortunate that the Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso led Kwankwasiyya movement launched anti judiciary campaign where they discredited the judiciary and call the judges unprintable names, all in a bid to intimidate the Hon. Justices of the Appeal Court and subvert justice.

The group maintained that such act was tantamount to terrorism that must be properly checked by the security agencies in order to forestall anarchy and violent killing of law abiding Nigerians.

Continuing, the group alleged: “The Kwankwasiyya group has equally commissioned some individuals which we have identified to cause violence in Abuja and other parts of the country in the next few days.

“The job of these individuals is to occupy foreign missions in Nigeria, thereafter, the Supreme Court premises and cause violence ahead of the Supreme Court decision on the Kano State governorship appeal pending before it.

“The Kwankwasiyya group has become a threat, not only to the residents of Kano state but also the judiciary and the Nation as a whole.”

The group thereby called on the Director General of State Security Service to immediately invite Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for interrogation on the alleged plot just as it recommended the arrest and interrogation of his cronies who have openly promised to unleash mayhem on the citizenry if Governor Abba Yusuf fails to scale the hurdle in the supreme court.
