
Babcock Academy, Abeokuta, has emphasised that moral and spiritual virtues are paramount to achieving academic excellence.
President and Vice Chancellor, Babcock University, Ilishan, Prof. Ademola Tayo, who disclosed this at the school’s 10th anniversary celebration, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, enjoined the students and workers to embrace integrity in their daily activities.
According to him, “moral and spiritual virtues with integrity and academic excellence are the unique traits of Adventist Education.”
The principal, Mr Gabriel Fasanu, said the academy would continue to produce top students with academic excellence.
He said: “Babcock Academy offers holistic education, which is helping the students lay a firm foundation for learning to achieve excellence.”
“This moment of celebration is a time to honour the school’s history, achievements, the community it has built and instruments that have contributed and are still contributing to the growth of the school.”
Fasanu also shared the school’s successes in academics, student empowerment, human capital and infrastructure, including libraries, water and installation of the closed-circuit television providing security for the academy.
During the ceremony, the academy unveiled various projects including a public toilet, the foundation of a new building, a borehole, a waiting stand and new signboard.
The guest speaker, Ngozi Nwaogwugwu, said, “I challenge everyone, as we celebrate the faithfulness of God, to make a fresh commitment to be the hands and feet, through which God would achieve His purpose in Babcock Academy.”
