Gov Ododo hails renewed fight against crime
Security agencies in Kogi State have recovered 53 stolen electrical transformers and arrested criminal gangs responsible for the theft .

The transformers, meant for electrification projects in different parts of the state, were stolen from the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) facility in the state.

The gangs were, however, arrested in Obajana, on their way to Lagos State.

It was learnt that the criminals have volunteered useful information that led to the arrest of a fleeing member of the gang in Ilorin, Kwara State, and the alleged receiver of the transformers in Lagos State.

Reacting, Kogi State governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, commended security agencies in the state for being steadfast in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He attributed the development to his administration’s renewed effort to combat crime, saying it is already yielding results.

The governor disclosed this in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah.

The recovered transformers have been kept at a facility of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in the state.

The governor restated his determination to stamp out crimes and criminality and assured security agencies of his support to ensure the protection of life and property.
