The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 23-year-old Oluwatobi Adeniji, 24-year-old Edem Chucks, and Emmanuel Ebere for kidnapping a 25-year-old man in the Ojo Local Council area of the state.

The command said that on Tuesday, August 27, at about 12:09 p.m., the Isashi Police Division received a distress call from a concerned citizen that some hoodlums had kidnapped an unknown person at Oke Moro in the Isashi area of Lagos State.

A team of officers led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) immediately raced to the scene, where one male victim, aged 25, was rescued. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the development, said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects beat the victim and, after that, requested N2 million ransom, which his mother paid through two different bank accounts.

The suspects also withdrew N1 million from the victim’s bank account through mobile transfer. The victim was also dispossessed of three Nigerian international passports and other valuable items.

“Investigation is ongoing while efforts are being made to track other fleeing suspects,” Hundeyin added.
