A member of the Nigerian Hunter and Forest Security Service, known as James, accidentally shot and killed an 18-year-old boy named Toheeb Akinbowale in the Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos State with his double-barrel rifle on September 8.

Akinbowale was taken to the hospital, where he later passed away, while another person named Sodeeq and an unidentified individual are currently receiving treatment at General Hospital Ikeja.

The scene was visited by a team of detectives who recovered the double-barrel rifle, and the suspect was arrested. The body of the deceased was taken to Ikeja Mortuary Hospital, Lagos.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the incident and said that an investigation is ongoing.
