A dramatic scene is set to unfold at the National Assembly on Monday, September 30, as social media influencer and blogger Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan with the handle @thatverydarkman on TikTok, will appear to shed more light on bribery allegations regarding controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky.

The controversial blogger had, in viral videos, alleged that some officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) collected N15 million from Bobrisky for the anti-graft agency to drop money laundering charges against him during his naira spraying ordeal in April this year.

The blogger also alleged that Bobrisky paid several millions of naira to a senior lawyer and spent time in a VIP facility instead of prison during his six-month sentencing for naira abuse.

The allegation has led the Federal Government to suspend some senior officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), while the anti-graft agency has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter.

In a letter dated September 27, 2024, the Joint House Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions asked the EFCC Chairman and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) to appear on Monday, September 30, 2024.

Also to appear alongside VDM is Bobrisky himself.

VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that his client would appear before the joint committee on Monday to provide more insight into the matter.

“We will be at the National Assembly tomorrow with our client @thatverydarkman to assist in the investigation into allegations by Bobrisky that he/she paid N15m to have money laundering charges dropped by the EFCC and also bribed prison officials to stay in an apartment,” he posted on his Facebook page on Sunday.
