CLK International Consultancy Services Ltd has strengthened Nigeria-China trade and investment ties in the oil and gas sector by connecting Nigerian stakeholders with over 100 Chinese equipment manufacturers.

The development followed the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board’s (NCDMB) recent engagement with Chinese Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in Chengdu, China.

The engagement focused on local manufacturing, technology transfer, investment and supply-chain integration in Nigeria.

CLK, the African representative of the China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE), facilitated the interaction between Nigerian institutions, indigenous oil and gas companies and the Chinese manufacturers.

The company, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Amb. Elizabeth Oziri, said the initiative was aimed at creating opportunities for business-to-business and technical partnerships.

The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) also participated in the engagement, allowing indigenous oilfield service companies to interact directly with Chinese manufacturers on technology, equipment, manufacturing and technical cooperation.

The development aligns with the objectives of NCDMB’s Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGAPS), which seeks to promote local manufacturing of oil and gas equipment and components.

It also supports Project 100 and Nigeria’s broader indigenous capacity-development agenda through stronger links between local companies and international manufacturers.

CLK said its role goes beyond event coordination to identifying relevant Chinese OEMs, facilitating technical and commercial discussions and connecting Nigerian companies with potential technology and manufacturing partners.

The firm said it would continue working with NCDMB, PETAN, indigenous oil and gas companies and Chinese manufacturers to promote technology transfer, investment, manufacturing and local supply-chain development.

The Chengdu engagement, stakeholders said, provides an opportunity to deepen Nigeria-China cooperation while supporting efforts to expand Nigeria’s domestic oil and gas manufacturing capacity.
