The initiative is aimed at redefining Nigeria’s image by promoting patriotism and encouraging active civic engagement among Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
At a press briefing in Abuja recently, Chairman of the URNI Advisory Committee, Dr. Vincent Ugochukwu, his assistant, alongside Mr. Nura Ibrahim Miko, stressed URNI’s focus on fostering a renewed sense of national pride, celebrating Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, and inspiring collective efforts toward national progress.
Themed “Rise Up Patriot: Take Pride in Our Nation,” the October 26th launch event will feature prominent discussions on national development, the impact of new media on Nigeria’s image, and the unveiling of the book “Faces of Patriotism.”
Highlights will include keynote speeches, cultural showcases, panel discussions, and networking sessions with key figures from various sectors.
“We are launching more than just an initiative; we are starting a movement to inspire Nigerians to embrace our identity and contribute to the nation’s development,” said Dr. Ugochukwu.
“Despite our challenges, we have strengths and potential that must be celebrated and leveraged for positive change.”
URNI’s long-term vision includes empowering youth through initiatives like capacity-building programmes for 30 million young entrepreneurs and the creation of tech hubs nationwide.
Partnerships with public and private sector organisations are being sought to drive these transformative efforts.
URNI is calling on all Nigerians to join the launch event, marking the start of a national effort to reshape the country’s narrative and secure a brighter future for all.
