Says FIL is developing home-grown solution
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), FIL Technology, an indigenous power generating outfit, Steve Chinemelum, has said government at various levels including concerned stakeholders must think out a way to address the challenge of power in the country.
He said for Nigeria to realise her potentials and become industrialized, power stability is a must achieve.

Chinemelum, while speaking on ‘Bringing reliable power solutions to Nigeria’, said none of the World powers today could have made it to where they are without achieving stable power supply “not even in the area of technology, security and ICT. A steady power supply is necessary for all these sectors to develop.”
Suggesting how Nigeria can overcome her power problems, Chinemelum, said, “As Nigeria continues to face power instability, FIL is stepping up to keep Nigerians powered and connected.”
According to him, “We have launched products like the Bolt Power bank and the M’paneka solar light, which are making waves. for their reliability and innovation.”
He said FIL was founded with a simple but critical goal, which is to solve Nigeria’s power instability with products that are innovative, sustainable, and, above all, reliable.
According to him, “The national grid is unfortunately very unstable, and many Nigerians experience daily power interruptions that disrupt work, school, and everyday life. Our mission is to make sure people have dependable power they can rely on—whether it’s through something as simple as charging their phones or lighting up a room. FIL products are designed to be practical, affordable, and aligned with a future that’s more sustainable.”
He said the Bolt power bank is a true powerhouse with 32,000 capacity, which is strong enough to keep devices powered for extended periods, even during long outages. “One of the standout features is its solar charging capability. It was designed not just to rely on traditional charging but can also be recharged using sunlight. This makes it especially useful in remote or off-grid areas—or simply for anyone who wants a backup power source that’s both portable and eco-friendly.
“The M’paneka solar light is another solar-powered light source that’s lightweight and easy to carry. It’s good for camping, outdoor events, or even just keeping in the home for those inevitable blackouts. It also uses solar charging, so there’s no need for batteries. It provides a sustainable, portable lighting solution.”
He noted that sustainability of power has become a responsibility that must not only be kept but also achieved by both government and Nigeria citizens.
According to him, In Nigeria, where electricity is inconsistent, there’s a huge opportunity for solar-powered and other renewable solutions to make a lasting impact. Not only are these solutions practical, but they also reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower carbon emissions. Products like the Bolt power bank and M’paneka solar light offer a cleaner, greener way for people to access power, which aligns with FIL’s vision of a more sustainable future.”
Recently, FIL trends on X formerly known as Twitter with the #howdoyouFIL campaign, Chinemelum, the development was aimed to connect with Nigerians on the effectiveness of the product and how it has helped to address power challenges.
He said the responses were overwhelming “as thousands of people joined in, sharing stories of how the Bolt and M’paneka have helped them stay powered through outages or enjoy off-grid adventures.”
