U.S. envoy commends Soludo as Anambra, firm partner on tech
Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has said that the state is at the forefront of economic prosperity with innovation and infrastructure to grow the state’s economy, and with the recent partnership with Meta, a technology company that builds platforms to connect people, find communities, and grow businesses.
He said that this giant stride in fostering development in the state and Meta’s collaboration underscores Anambra State’s commitment to the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. With this, Anambra State aims to leverage Meta’s cutting-edge technology and expertise to drive economic growth, create jobs, and improve the overall quality of life for citizens.
The pact between the state and Meta was formally launched at the inaugural Anambra Innovation Week in Awka, the state capital.
Soludo said: “Anambra will be the innovation hub of the country.” In her remark, Meta Africa’s Connectivity and Innovation Policy Manager, Ms. Sade Dada, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship programmes of Anambra State.
This will help create a vibrant ecosystem to nurture the next generation of Nigerian innovators and change-makers.
Meanwhile, the Acting United States Consul General, JoEllen Gorg, has commended Soludo’s Innovation Week. The commendation came at the grand ceremony of this year’s Anambra Innovation Week, where the governor rewarded participants of the state’s ‘One-Youth-Two-Skill programme, ‘One Million Digital Tribe, Solution Innovation District (SID), and the ‘Code Anambra Programme’.
The Consulate General affirmed that the Innovation Week, which encompasses the digital innovation programmes of the governor, will attract the required skills needed for the growth of the state’s economy considering the pool of people that will be proficient in different technological training and business enterprises.
