Warri Wolves beat Crown FC 2-0, Adamawa, Kebbi United lose at home

Football fans in Sapele, Delta State, left the stadium dreaming of the return of the good times following the performance of two former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) teams, Warri Wolves and Crown FC at the weekend as the 2024/2025 Nigerian National League (NNL) got underway.

Football fans in Sapele, Delta State, left the stadium dreaming of the return of the good times following the performance of two former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) teams, Warri Wolves and Crown FC at the weekend as the 2024/2025 Nigerian National League (NNL) got underway.  
 
For years, football fans in Sapele and its environs have been starved of top football action; but the encounter between Warri Wolves and the visiting Crown FC brought back old football memories to the people on Saturday.
   


Two first half goals from Ezekiel Oroh and Igbunu Evwierhurhona sealed victory for the Seasiders.  
   
Thrilled by the team’s performance, Chairman Warri Wolves FC, Neville Ambakaderemo,  expressed excitement and dedicated the victory to the new chairman of the Delta State’s Sports Commission, Onoriode Oborevwori, and his board members, who were on ground to cheer the team to victory.
 
He also praised the Director General of the Sports Commission, Festus Owhojero, for his support and belief in the team.

Warri Wolves is led by Coach Napoleon Alums.
 
In other Match Day One results in the NNL, Abakaliki FC played a 2-2 draw with Madiba FC, Beyond Limits were held to a 1-1 draw by Dakkada, Adamawa United lost 1-2 to Kada Warriors, Kebbi United also lost 1-2 at home to Sporting Supreme FC Abuja, just as Solution FC drew 1-1 with Rovers FC.
 
Elsewhere, Ijele FC played a 2-2 draw with Inter-Lagos, Kun-Khalifat FC defeated ABS FC 1-0, First bank drew 0-0 with Osun United, while Gateway United played 0-0 with Godswill Akpabio FC. 
At the Caliphate, Sokoto United defeated Jigawa Golden Stars 2-0, just as the encounter between Barau FC and Mighty Jets ended 1-1.
