African Heritage Centre to host Year-End Community Event in Mississauga

The African Heritage Centre (AHC) proudly announces its annual Year-End Community Event, set to take place on December 14th, 2024, at the Huron Park Recreation Centre. This family-friendly gathering will celebrate the rich cultural heritage, resilience, and achievements of Peoples of African descent while fostering unity and inspiration for future generations.

The event offers a unique opportunity for the community to reflect on the AHC’s journey, provide valuable feedback, and engage with influential leaders in the Black community. It is a testament to the Centre’s commitment to preserving African cultural legacies and empowering future generations through education, innovation, and cultural celebration.

Under the guidance of its visionary, Michael Emeka Dibua, and excellent stewards like Theodore Koum, Efuange Khumbah, Matthew Ogbulafor, Gisele Libawo, Marsha Bennett, Annette Salfarie, Nene Akintan, Abi Adekitan, David Edwards, Bisi Aboaba, Sunday Olorunsheyi, Ola Salako, Ngozi Okerulu, Muyiwa Esho, and the dedicated members of the organization and its committees, the African Heritage Centre, when constructed, would be more than a facility—it would be a beacon of cultural pride and empowerment.

Attendees will enjoy captivating performances by Alpha Rhythm Roots and the Efik Class Captain, as well as inspiring keynote addresses and engaging cultural activities. The event promises to be a vibrant celebration and an opportunity for meaningful connections within the community.

The AHC’s vision includes the establishment of a state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility in Ontario, serving as a hub for arts, culture, innovation, and community development. This centre will also contribute to inward tourism and stand as a symbol of unity and progress.

Visionary Statement from Michael Emeka Dibua:
“The African Heritage Centre is not just about preserving our past—it is about inspiring our future. By sharing our untold stories, bridging the gaps between our people, and celebrating our achievements, we are building a foundation for the future that will engender unity, pride, and progress for all Peoples of African descent.”
