The programme with the theme: ‘Tech explorers: discover your future in technology’ was designed to introduce the teenagers to various categories in the technology sector.

They teenagers were taught foundational industry skills, insights and provided with hands-on experience to foster their career pursuit in technology.

Speaking on the programme, one of the founders, Ijeoma Ejiofor, said the idea was designed to build on the success recorded during last year’s inaugural program.

She also noted that participants had the unique opportunity to learn from professionals, who shared their personal journeys and insights.

In another comment the programme coordinator, Nosa, said,“Seeing these young individuals develop their skills and confidence has been incredibly rewarding, we are proud to have facilitated their growth.”

Analysing some highlights of the 2024 programme, Nosa noted said during the interactive workshops, participants engaged in hands-on activities that promote teamwork and critical thinking.

He added that to improve on the technical skills of the participants, the teens worked collaboratively and developed a clearer understanding in the various technological careers, just as they were also taught on networking opportunities where they were connected with their peers and mentors, forming valuable relationships that extend beyond the program.

According to Nosa, the programme also involved extracurricular activities under which the participants engaged in games and hands-on knitting activities. They were trained on how to make raffia baskets for themselves.

To Nosa, “Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with 95 per cent expressing increased confidence in their abilities and a desire to continue developing their skills.
