Police bust kidnappers’ hideout, rescue victims in Nasarawa
The Police in Nasarawa State have arrested three kidnapped victims during a raid of kidnappers’ hideout on Saturday. Confirming the development in a statement yesterday, spokesperson for the command, DSP Ranham Nansel, said Police operatives attached to the Gitata Division in Karu Local Council of the state raided the kidnappers’ hideout and rescued the trio of Abdulsalam Shuaibu, Sani Shuaibu, and Blessing Okorie.
According to him, the police division got information that a Volkswagen Sharon vehicle with three occupants travelling along the Kaduna-Keffi highway was attacked, and the victims were whisked away to an unknown destination.
“Upon receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area, SP Zaks Wambai, swiftly mobilised his men to the scene and combed the vicinity.
“The kidnappers’ hideout was invaded, and they were dislodged, paving the way for the rescue of the victims unhurt,” he said. Commenting on the issue, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Shettima Mohammed, lauded the officers for a job well done and urged them to sustain the onslaught against criminals.
