The South East Senate Caucus has extended its congratulations to Senator Azuta Mbata on his election as the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, describing it as a pivotal moment in the history of the Igbo apex socio-cultural organization.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the caucus leader, expressed confidence in Senator Mbata’s leadership abilities, emphasising that his tenure will foster unity, peace, and development in Igboland.

Abaribe noted that Mbata’s leadership will not only strengthen internal cohesion among Ndigbo but also build meaningful partnerships with other ethnic and cultural groups to promote Nigeria’s unity.

“We believe Ohaneze under Senator Mbata’s leadership will serve as a rallying point for Ndigbo, inspiring confidence and progress in both individual and collective aspirations,” Abaribe said.

The Caucus also praised the smooth transition of leadership, commending the outgoing President General, Nze Ozichukwu, for overseeing a peaceful and democratic election process.

They urged all Igbos to support Senator Mbata and his team in delivering on their mandate to restore the dignity and prosperity of Alaigbo.
