An Ibadan-based cleric, Rev’d  Gbeminiyi Eboda, has called on Nigerian leaders, especially those in public offices, to lead the pack in sacrificing for the progress of  the country.

Eboda, who is the Senior Pastor of Harvest House Christian Centre, Akobo, Ibadan, said leaders must learn to be more sacrificial in the approach so that the citizens could take a cue from their exemplary leadership style.

The pastor urged the leaders to see leadership as a call to stewardship, not a call to privileges.

Eboda also challenged the nation’s leaders to serve the people who voted them into offices, and not their sponsors.

The cleric made the call while addressing journalists at a press conference heralding a forthcoming evening of prayers and praises for the nation and the citizens.

The event tagged: “Night of Mercy” is slated for January 22, by 5pm at the Alpha Cathedral of the Church, Iyana Olopa,  Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Gospel artistes, including Bidemi Olaoba, are to minister in songs alongside others, while Reverend Ebola is to minister in words.

Eboda charged the leaders to lead by example, calling on them to provide transformational leadership for the country.
