The Chairman of Zaria Local Government Area, Muhammad Jamil Ahmad has commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas for the construction and upgrading sports facilities in the Council Area.

He also applauded the Speaker for sponsoring 20 Coaches from Zaria to undergo training at the National Institute of Sports (NIS).

According to the Zaria Council Chairman, Abbas has demonstrated untiring efforts and zeal towards developing sporting activities in Kaduna State, which has now gone to history.

The commendation on Abbas commitment to sports came when a delegation of Sports Committee of the  House of Representatives, led by Magaji Alhassan paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Zaria.

Ahmad said that the Speaker has no doubt put smiles on the faces of young Athletes, especially with the construction and upgrades of several sporting facilities in Zaria and its environs.

Meanwhile, speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Senior Legislative Aid on Youth and Sports to the Speaker, Magaji Alhassan acknowledged the sponsorship of the 20 Coaches to the NIS.

He said the sponsorship would help improve the standard of football in Zaria, saying, ” four Five-Aside pitches and four standard football stadiums have been put in place in Zaria by the Honourable Speaker”.
