Keep new security outfit from political interference, lawyer tells Soludo

Legal practitioner Ifeanyi Ejiofor has urged the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, to ensure that the newly launched security outfit, Agunechemba, is free from political interference.
Soludo launched the outfit on Saturday as part of his effort to curb the rising insecurity in the state.
He also signed the Anambra State Homeland Security Law 2025, just as he donated 200 vehicles for security purposes.
Reacting, Ejiofor shared on social media, “I have carefully reviewed the Anambra State Homeland Security Law 2025, which establishes the ‘Agunechemba’ security outfit. My reflections align with the wisdom of a popular Igbo adage, ‘Osita di mma odibara gboo,’ loosely translating to ‘it is still early in the day to make things right and achieve better results.’ This underscores the opportunity to lay a strong foundation for the outfit’s success.
“As the November 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election approaches, I urge the Governor and his team to ensure that the Agunechemba security outfit remains free from political interference. It must not fall into the hands of political predators or be misused as a tool for oppression, intimidation, or harassment. Instead, its core objective – ensuring the security and welfare of the people – must be preserved above all else.
“Security is a shared responsibility. Every citizen has a role to play in restoring Anambra State’s former glory. Together, we can achieve a safer, more prosperous homeland.”
