One dead, four injured in Lagos’ Ajah building collapse

One person has died after a building collapsed at Northern Vulture Estate, Chevron Drive, Ajah, Lagos.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) also revealed that four other persons sustained varying degrees of injury as a result of the collapse.

LASEMA said: “Upon the arrival of the Shark team at the incident scene, it was discovered that a two-storey building under construction had collapsed at the aforementioned location.

“The immediate cause of the incident is unknown, and further investigation will be conducted. Unfortunately, an adult male was confirmed dead by the LASAMBUS officials, and four adult males were seriously injured and have been transported to the hospital.

“The agency, alongside other common stakeholders, was able to rescue the victims while the agency’s heavy-duty equipment has been dispatched. A search and rescue operation is ongoing.”
