A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Akeem Agbaje, has said his party will defeat the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Seyi Makinde if he contests for any post in 2027.

Speaking at a radio programme in Ibadan, Agbaje maintained that the present PDP in the state under the leadership of Gov. Makinde is defeat-able at the poll if the APC could come together as one strong party in 2027.

Agbaje said, “The event of 2023 is past, and the party can only get it better ahead of 2027 if all the stakeholders resolve to stop pointing fingers against each other as one or the other is responsible for the last electoral loss.

“If we are going to be honest with ourselves, we need a united APC to take over from the present PDP in the state. There should be strict adherence to party discipline through respect to the leadership of the party in the state.

“Our state working committee and relevant stakeholders should continue meeting to resolve whatever issues that are causing division within the party.

”I trust the capacities of our state Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass, and other officers of the party at state and other levels. APC is our party, all of us are going to work together.”
