Ogbogbo inaugurated as new VC of ADUN

The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), yesterday, inaugurated Prof. Christopher Bankole Ndubisi Ogbogbo as its substantive Vice-Chancellor (VC), putting to rest smouldering dust raised by concern stakeholders who alleged irregularities in the selection process.
  
Prof. Ogbogbo was appointed the VC with strict adherence to the institution’s Establishment Act despite coming behind Prof. Lucian Obinna Chukwu, a Professor of Marine Biology, who scored 83.41 per cent (the highest mark).
  
A legal luminary, Prof. Nelson Ojokwu-Ogba, administered the inauguration at the faculty of law auditorium, ADUN campus, Ibusa, Delta State. Immediately after the inauguration, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Rear Admiral MM Abdullahi, handed over the university law and other instruments as working documents to the newly appointed VC to guide him throughout the five-year duration.
   
In his opening remarks, the Registrar of the institution, IM Mankilik, congratulated the VC, saying his appointment was well deserved and a sign that there is an official exchange of leadership in ADUN.He said: “Your appointment is a testament to your academic prowess, visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the advancement of higher education.”
  
The registrar expressed optimism that the new VC would drive ADUN to greater heights for remarkable feats. In his inaugural speech, Prof. Ogbogbo, who expressed joy for the appointment, said: “ I’m honoured to accept the role of VC of ADUN; I shall be guided by my vision for ADUN, which is to nurture a university that is locally impactful and internationally competitive.”
