A Kwara State court has dismissed all criminal allegations against popular Nollywood actress and businesswoman, Dr. Elizabeth Anjorin, also known as Lizzy Anjorin, in a legal battle involving Saheed Mosadoluwa, also known as Ibile, and Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Limited.
The case, filed as a direct criminal complaint, had drawn intense legal scrutiny. However, Anjorin’s legal team—comprising Prof. O. Y. Abdulhamid, Esq., I. M. Adedo, Esq., Taofeeq Olateju, Esq., and Abdullahi, Esq.—successfully defended her against the allegations.
During the proceedings, the Attorney General of Kwara State intervened, assumed control of the case, and applied for its dismissal. Presiding over the case, Hon. Yunus Kayode ruled in favor of the Attorney General’s request, leading to the termination of both the original complaint and a cross-complaint filed by Anjorin.
Delivering the judgment on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Justice Kayode stated: “Having listened to submissions from both parties and particularly the application of the Attorney General to take over the case and request its termination, the direct complaint dated February 24, 2025, and the cross-complaint dated March 11, 2025, are hereby terminated. The defendants are discharged.”
Following the ruling, Anjorin expressed gratitude to her legal team, fans, and the Kwara State judiciary for what she described as a fair and thorough investigation.
In an interview on Friday, Lizzy Anjorin, who is the Chief Executive Officer, Califonia Paradise City, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State, explained, “The case was about a land dispute in Lagos, but the complainant filed a criminal suit against me in Ilorin in an attempt to imprison me. I responded by presenting my evidence and counter-suing, which made both of us defendants. Eventually, the case was dismissed, and I withdrew my countersuit, leaving everything to God.”
She commended the Kwara judiciary for ensuring justice, stating, “My case proves that Ilorin’s judicial system is fair and does not punish innocent people unjustly.”
