Peaceful celebration in Jos as first rain fell

The Eid-el-fitri celebration in Jos , Plateau State capital yesterday was characterised by peace just as church services by the Christians went on simultaneously without any hindereance.

As Muslims were going to Ali Kazaure prayer ground, Christians were also going to Churches at the same time all exchanging pleasantries before parting for their different destinations in a happy mood.

The state Governor Caleb Mutfwang marked the celebration yesterday with a special broadcast urging the Muslims to live peacefully with both the Christian and Muslim adherents .

He commended the resilience, devotion and discipline exhibited by the Muslim community throughout the Ramadam period.
Mutfwang described what he called the Unity month as a time of deep reflection , spiritual renewal and moral fortification underscoring its significance in strengthening faith and fostering compassion.

” This season of sacrifice and self -denial has impacted invaluable lessons , shaping our character and reinforcing our faith .I encourage you to sustain the spirit of prayer and intercession for continued peace and prosperity in our dear state and country”the governor added.

To show God’s design for Unity of faith for both Christianity and Islam the first rain of the year in the state was witnessed yesterday,in Jos in the afternoon.
