Controversial media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, better regarded as Daddy Freeze, has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.
He stated that Tinubu’s policies have reignited his hope in the country’s progress.
Speaking in an interview with Nigeria Info FM, Lagos, Daddy Freeze acknowledged the daunting challenges Nigeria faces but urged citizens to be patient with the President’s reforms. He argued that expecting immediate solutions to deep-rooted issues is unrealistic.
“With President Bola Tinubu, I don’t think Nigeria is in trouble. I was scared initially, but I’m seeing the work he is doing in the power sector,” he said.

Comparing Nigeria to a “big overloaded tipper with a bad engine,” Daddy Freeze explained that fixing the nation requires time and strategic interventions. “So, anybody or mechanic you bring will struggle. The leadership is that mechanic,” he added.
Daddy Freeze, known for his outspoken views on religion and social issues, has often courted controversy with his blunt takes on governance and leadership. While he remains critical of past administrations, he admitted that Tinubu’s approach has given him newfound optimism.
“I was worried initially, but with the way this regime has handled things so far, I am leaning towards the fact that we finally have hope in this country,” he concluded.
Whether he sees or admits the sufferings of the masses, his statement of hope in the present government in power remains one of his controversial statements yet.
