Edo killings: Akpabio condemns attack, calls for justice

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has condemned the murder of 16 travelers in Edo State, describing the act as senseless, unacceptable, and a threat to national unity.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio expressed deep sadness and concern over the gruesome killings, calling for a thorough investigation and swift justice.
“This senseless act of violence has no place in our society. I urge the relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible for this barbaric crime are identified, prosecuted, and held accountable,” he said.

Akpabio also emphasised the need for peace, unity, and collective efforts in preventing violence and insecurity across the country.

“We must not allow such acts of violence to divide us or derail our commitment to building a better Nigeria,” he added.

The Senate President extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the government, and the people of Edo State, praying for peace and strength for those affected.
