Residents of Filin Samji/Kofar Dauri community in the Katsina State capital have called on the state government to construct an access road that would help open the community by linking it to a major road network in the metropolitan area.
Specifically, the community called on Governor Dikko Radda to “use his good office” and intervene to ensure the road’s construction, as previous pleas to the previous government had gone unanswered.
Chairman of the community, Prof Gide Filin-Samji, made this known when he spoke to some selected reporters yesterday.
Filin-Samji said the community had been without a good access road, which affected the free movement of vehicles, slowed down the growth of businesses, and prevented the area from developing.
He said the community had earlier met and discussed the importance of having such a road, and that they decided calling on the state governor to intervene became the best option if the project were to see the light of day.
“Our community, Filin Samji/Kofar Sauri, community requests Governor Dikko Umar Radda’s support for the construction of the access road from Kofar Durbi Yan Lemu to Kofar Sauri Yan Fura Fura, which links to the Kofar Sauri GRA main road,” Filin-Samji said.
“The community has been advocating for this project for some time now, but it has not come to fruition.
“Governor Radda is a project achiever who aims to transform the state with tarred roads, and if constructed, the feeder road would greatly benefit the community and facilitate daily activities, and boost businesses.
“We, therefore, appeal to Governor Radda to consider and approve the construction of this road, as previous requests to the Katsina State Government have been unsuccessful.”
