… Says Minister proves youth no barrier to excellence

Senator Jide Ipinsagba, representing the Ondo North Senatorial District, at the weekend, extolled the achievements of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in the last three years, describing his tenure as a testament to visionary leadership that has produced measurable transformation within government institutions.

In a statement issued by the senator, he harped on the minister’s contributions to institutional reforms, particularly within the country’s correctional system, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Federal Fire Service, noting that his leadership has been characterized by deliberate efforts to strengthen administrative capacity and improve service delivery across the Ministry of Interior.

The senator stressed that the minister’s stewardship has gone beyond individual interventions to establish an administrative architecture built around efficiency, accountability, technology, and measurable performance, positioning the ministry to meet the demands of contemporary governance.

Ipinsagba observed that three years in public office represents a period in which leadership is tested against institutional realities and administrative vision is translated into measurable outcomes, and where public service is judged by the lives touched and systems improved.

“In your tenure, you have demonstrated that political leadership, when anchored on vision, competence, courage, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to service, can produce meaningful transformation and tangible benefits for the people.

“The reforms and innovations within the nation’s correctional system, improvements in the operations of the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Federal Fire Service, and other agencies under the Ministry of Interior reflect a clear determination to make government institutions more responsive, effective, and people-centered,” Ipinsagba stated.

The senator particularly commended the human face of Tunji-Ojo’s governance, noting that his interventions have consistently demonstrated compassion and responsiveness, particularly in addressing the needs and welfare of vulnerable Nigerians.

He described the balance between institutional reform and concern for the ordinary citizen as one of the defining attributes of the minister’s leadership.
