Two die, six injured in Oyo-Ogbomoso road auto crash

Two people lost their lives, while six others sustained injuries in a car accident along the Oyo-Ogbomoso road yesterday.

The crash, which occurred around 7:00 a.m. near the Ipeba area, involved a commercial Nissan vehicle that reportedly rammed into rocks placed as barricades by a construction company.

The deceased include the driver and a female passenger, whose identities had not been disclosed as of press time.

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials from the Oolo Unit were said to have promptly responded to the scene, evacuating the injured victims to Bowen University Teaching Hospital for medical treatment. The bodies of the deceased were deposited at the morgue of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.

Speaking on the incident, the state sector commander of FRSC, Mary Alo, confirmed the crash, saying, “I am aware there was an accident at Oolo. The vehicle ran into the rock, resulting in the death of two persons, while six others were injured and taken to the hospital for medical attention.”
