The Nifemi Brown Foundation (NBF) has announced the commencement of the third edition of its Undergraduate Scholarship Program (USP 3), aimed at supporting academically outstanding and financially disadvantaged students in Nigerian federal universities.
The initiative continues the foundation’s commitment to fostering educational equity and leadership among Nigerian youths.
Established in 2015, the NBF has consistently worked towards alleviating the financial burdens of higher education for underprivileged students.
The USP 3 is designed for returning undergraduate students (200 level and above) who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to personal development.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens enrolled in federal universities, possess a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale, and exhibit financial need.
The application process requires a 500-word personal essay, academic transcripts, three reference letters, and a valid means of identification.
The foundation emphasizes the importance of personal narratives in the application process. Applicants are encouraged to share their backgrounds, challenges, achievements, and aspirations, highlighting how the scholarship would support their academic journey.
Reference letters should come from credible sources such as lecturers, mentors, religious leaders, or community heads.
All applications must be submitted online via the foundation’s official website, www.nbfafrica.org/scholarship, by June 30, 2025. Email submissions will not be accepted, and failure to adhere to the submission guidelines may result in disqualification.
The NBF’s commitment to education is rooted in its broader mission to empower communities through sustainable development initiatives.
By investing in the education of young Nigerians, the foundation aims to cultivate a generation of leaders equipped to drive positive change in their communities and the nation at large.
In previous editions of the scholarship program, numerous students have benefited, enabling them to continue their studies without the added stress of financial constraints.
The foundation’s efforts have been lauded for their impact on increasing access to quality education for marginalised populations.
Prospective applicants are advised to visit the NBF’s official website for detailed information on the application process and requirements.
The foundation also welcomes partnerships and donations from individuals and organizations interested in supporting its mission to make quality education accessible to all.
