Firm donates learning materials to pupils in Lagos, Ogun, Abuja

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Rite Foods Limited has donated educational materials to about 2,000 pupils in 10 schools across Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The materials, including school bags and exercise books, were to support pupils in underserved communities in their academic journey. The initiative aims to enhance the academic experience of pupils and encourage their commitment to education as future leaders.

In line with its sustainability goals, the firm produced the school bags using recycled nylon waste generated from its product packaging.

“This not only reduces environmental waste but also teaches children the value of recycling and circular economy practices. In Ogun State, beneficiaries include pupils from Muslim Primary School, St. Thomas Catholic Primary School, and St. John’s Anglican Primary School.

In Lagos, the team visited Oworonsoki Nursery and Primary School, Local Government Nursery and Primary School, Ayeroju Nursery and Primary School, Mosafejo Nursery and Primary School, and Muslim Nursery and Primary School in the Kosofe Local Government Area of the state.

The programme also featured an interactive session educating pupils on sustainability and the importance of recycling waste into useful products like school bags.

Speaking at the event, the firm’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, emphasised the importance of investing in children’s education.

“Our corporate social responsibility programme is symbolic of the role children play in nation-building. By encouraging education and sustainability, we are shaping a generation that understands the value of learning and environmental stewardship,” Eze stated.

Similarly, Head of Human Resources, Ismail Ganiyu, said the firm is proud to support the country’s future leaders with learning materials that could aid their academic growth.

On his part, Managing Director of Kazih Kits, Rite Foods technical partners, Dr Chinedu Azih, said the initiative is a testament to what can be achieved when corporate leadership aligns with grassroots innovation, adding that turning waste into hope for 2,000 children is both impactful and inspiring.

Azih highlighted the project’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4, 13 and 17), which centres on quality education, climate action and partnerships.

While commending the firm for its thoughtful gesture, Azih noted that the initiative eases the financial burden on parents and supports pupils’ academic performance.

Head Teacher of Moslem Primary School, Ososa, Idris Olakunle, lauded the company’s generosity, wishing the management continued success. Similarly, the Chairman of School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) in the local council, Kehinde Dare, said the company’s action is a demonstration of its genuine concern for the educational development of Nigerian children.
