Abducted Benue Links passengers regain freedom

The eleven abducted Benue Links passengers and driver have regained their freedom.

The passengers and driver were kidnapped one week ago at Eke Elegbencho, Okpokwu Local Government Council, Benue State.

The company broke the news of the release of the abducted persons in a statement by its information officer, Johnson Ehi, on Sunday.

“Benue Links Nigeria Limited is relieved to confirm the safe release of the remaining 10 passengers and the driver who were abducted during a recent unfortunate incident involving one of our vehicles along the Eke-Elengbecho axis of Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State on Sunday, 22nd June, 2025.

“The passengers, who were initially 12 at the point of abduction, with two earlier rescued, had been held against their will by unidentified individuals but have now regained their freedom”, part of the statement read.

The company stated that all released persons appeared to be in good health but would undergo a medical examination, including counselling to help them cope with the trauma, before reuniting with their families.
