A farming community on the outskirts of Doka Maijama’a Village in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, was thrown into pandemonium in the early hours of Tuesday, when terrorists invaded the home of 60-year-old Malam Isiya Abdullahi, abducting him and also killing his 25-year-old son, Suleiman Isiya.

The attack, which occurred around 2:00 a.m., saw the assailants wielding cutlasses and other dangerous weapons as they stormed the residence with chilling precision.

However, Suleiman, in a courageous attempt to protect his father, was said to have resisted the assailants but was overpowered and stabbed multiple times.

He succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his death.

Meanwhile, some locals reported that Nigerian troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, have launched a manhunt to locate the abducted farmer and apprehend the perpetrators of the attack. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no group has claimed responsibility for it.

Residents of Doka Maijama’a Village are reeling from the incident, with many expressing fear and frustration over the rising wave of insecurity in the area.

The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the latest unfortunate incident.

The Guardian’s attempt to speak with the police spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, by telephone about the incident was unsuccessful, as he did not respond to the call.

But, sources at the police command said efforts are underway to investigate the incident and also ensure peace, track down the terrorists and ensure the safe rescue of Malam Isiya Abdullahi.
