The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that Lagos State University (LASU), the University of Lagos (UNILAG), and the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) are among the top universities most preferred by candidates as their first choice for the 2025 admissions in Nigeria.

Specifically, it said the universities were the most sought-after institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session from the over 2 million candidates that sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

This was revealed in the 2025 policy document made available to The Guardian and signed by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.
