National Vice Chairman (South-South), Labour Party, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, joined other Nigerians to mourn late former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as “not just a man, but an era”.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Asaba on Monday, Ezeagwu said Buhari was a figure who stirred hearts, defined generations, and stood through storm and sunshine as a symbol of unyielding discipline, sacrifice, and service to Nigeria.
“From his early days as a young military officer to his time as Head of State, and finally as our civilian President, he wore the burdens of leadership with stoic humility.
“Though we often stood on different sides of Nigeria’s political spectrum, I deeply respected the man behind the title. His conviction, his simplicity, and above all, his love for country, were never in doubt. His choices may have divided opinions, but his sincerity in doing what he believed was right never wavered,” he said
To the family, Ezeagwu wished they find peace in knowing that he lived fully in service of the nation. He concluded, “Nigeria is mourning a father, a warrior, a patriot, and I, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, bow my head in solemn respect.”
