Tayese Academy of Arts and Culture (TAAC) London, a Community Interest Company (CIC) has partnered with Adewunmi Olumide, a renowned lighting and film production expert/ founder of Easy Film, to elevate the standard and visibility of Yoruba cultural film projects in the United Kingdom.
Mr Olanrewaju Sharafa, Executive Officer of Tayese Academy, announced this in a statement made available on Thursday in Lagos.
Sharafa said that the partnership aims to strengthen the technical and creative capacity of Tayese Academy’s ongoing and upcoming yoruba-focused film projects, including “Imoran Peckham” and “Arileyanka: Final Minutes” — two culturally rooted narratives set to be shot in the UK.
He explained that these projects form part of Tayese Academy’s mission to preserve, promote, and globalise yoruba arts, stories, and identity through high-quality audiovisual storytelling.
According to him, through Easy Film, Adewunmi brings not only his technical expertise but also an impressive professional track record in international film production.
Sharafa revealed that Adewunmi will be playing a dual role — contributing his expertise as a key crew member while also strengthening the production infrastructure of these cultural projects.
“Adewunmi Olumide has served as Gaffer and crew member on major international screen projects, including acclaimed Netflix titles such as Hijack 93, Madam Koi-Koi, Lara & the beat, Ile Owo (House of Money), Obara’M, Soole, Ijakumo (The Born-again stripper) among others.
“His creative contributions and lighting artistry have enhanced numerous high-profile Nollywood productions, making him a sought-after collaborator among some of the industry’s leading names.
“He has worked with celebrated filmmakers including Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Uche Okocha (AMP), Feyifunmi Oginni, and Jay Franklyn Jituboh, to name a few,” he said.
According to him, working with Adewunmi, whose lighting and production insight has been recognized on global platforms from Netflix-supported projects to Nollywood hits, will be instrumental in shaping TAAC’s vision.
Sharafa added that Adewunmi’s active role as a crew member strengthens TAAC’s commitment to delivering professional grade yoruba content that bridges UK and African industries.
Commenting, Adewunmi Olumide expressed his excitement to lend his technical expertise and creative passion to culturally rich narratives.
Olumide noted that with Easy Film and Tayese working together, the team would deliver vibrant, authentic yoruba storytelling to both diaspora and mainstream audiences.
He said: “with this partnership, Tayese Academy is poised to deliver top-tier cultural content that resonates with both local and global audiences.
“The integration of Easy Film’s professional lighting and crew services will ensure that each production reflects the richness of Yoruba culture, captured with technical excellence and visual brilliance.
“This collaboration marks a milestone in the Academy’s broader mission to support cultural creatives, diaspora storytelling, and heritage preservation through media.
