The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iliya Damagum, has said that former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s defection from the party is “normal”, noting that his return was imminent. 
 
Damagum said this in Bauchi while speaking with journalists on Friday.
 
He said that the defection of the presidential candidate of the party in 2023 was not new to the party, emphasising that he would certainly return.
 
He said: “It’s expected because this isn’t the first time, and I don’t see it being the last. Politics is flexible, and you know it is dynamic, and you know whatever goes around comes around.”
