Some expatriates and foreign companies in Nigeria who have contributed to the development of the country were honoured recently at the 2025 The Expatriates Business Award (TEBA).
In her address, The Director of TEBA Awards, Odunola Abayomi said TEBA is an evening of exhibition, appreciation, music and comedy which forms a vibrant fusion of culture and commerce, where the handshake of diplomacy meets the heartbeat of Nigerian creativity.
She added that the award was created to recognise and honour expatriates who power Nigeria’s economy day after day and were not recognised before now.
Abayomi said TEBA is geared towards honouring, celebrating and rewarding the entrepreneurial spirit of foreign nationals who choose Nigeria as the canvas for their ingenuity.
She noted that the long term vision includes mentorship programmes, sector specific round-tables and an annual Expatriate Enterprise Index that will track foreign-led economic impact across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
Abayomi commended the sponsors that included Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Aero Contractors, Turkish Airlines, AVSATEL, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, News Central TV, Thewill Newspaper, KAS Prints amongst others for their support.
The colourful event was well attended by the expatriate community including, entrepreneurs, diplomats, businessmen and women, entertainers, and other group of foreigners from across the continents of the world.
Some of the awardees are: Avsatel Communications Limited, the winner of the Aviation Safety Champion of the year; Danny Green a.k.a 237 TownCryer got the Cross-Border Talent of The Year; Pascale Olumayowa Tafqa won the Expatriate Entrepreneur Of The Year; Mrs. Alice Adetona Inter-cultural Culinary Ambassador; Lilian Bach Diaspora Distinction Award and Zainab Fatty as TEBA Serial-Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024/25.
Other winners include China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), Arvind Pathak, Nigerbird Engineering, Janice Udogu, Ronya Man, Juma Jux and Rania Elewa.
