Yoruba Academy appoints Yagboyaju as new Director General

A new Director General (DG) has been appointed for the Yoruba Academy by the Governing Board of the body. This was disclosed to newsmen in Ibadan, on Thursday, following the conclusion of a joint meeting between the Board of Trustees (BoT) and the Governing Board of a foremost Think Tank body, the Yoruba Academy.

The Academy was established with a central objective of preserving the Yoruba culture and civilisation, buoying up the public sector, breathing life into the private sector and building synergy between the two sectors.

The meeting was held to inaugurate the newly appointed DG, Prof. Dhikrullah Yagboyaju. At the meeting were the chairman of the BoT, Olawale Oshun and the Chairman of the Governing Board, Prof. Lai Olurode.
Other members at the meeting were Chief (Mrs.) Jumoke Anifowose, Prince Oyewole Oyetunji and Dr. Moreni Tafita.

The new DG, in his speech of acceptance promised to live in fulfilment of the vision of the Yoruba Academy and particularly, it’s civilisation, science, technology, language and culture.
