Singer Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande, popularly known as 9ice, has claimed that the devil controls the music industry, warning artistes to be mindful of the words they use in their songs.

The ‘Gongo Aso’ crooner made this known on the Nancy Isime Show, which was shared via Instagram by the host on Saturday.

According to the 45-year-old artiste, his belief comes from years of experience in the entertainment scene, adding that the spiritual influence of the devil over music is real.

“I was talking about Grammy and I wasn’t given, but Burna Boy got it. That’s why I said when you sing as an artiste, watch what you say in words. Because devil controls music. Devil is the choirmaster. That’s why we smoke, we do all these things. Music generally, devil controls the music. If you are coming to this industry, understand where you’re coming to. I’m not lying to you.

“He (God) says (to Devil) go to the world, let me see how many will follow you. Let me stay there, let’s see how many will follow me. Devil is the most powerful angel,” he said.
