Olu of Warri sets Aug 31 deadline for Itsekiri students’ bursary nominations

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has directed Itsekiri communities in Delta and Edo states to submit nominations for the 2025 Itsekiri Students’ Bursary Scheme by August 31.

A statement from the Office of the Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) confirmed that 746 candidates have been shortlisted so far.

Under the scheme, each targeted Itsekiri community within Warri Federal Constituency, Delta Central Senatorial District, and designated areas of Edo State is to present three eligible students for final selection.

According to the statement, nominees must be Itsekiri indigenes currently in 200 level or above in a recognised tertiary institution. Required documentation includes an admission letter, academic transcript, and other relevant academic records.

The statement advised: “Communities are strongly advised to cross-check the current shortlist to avoid resubmitting names of students who have already been selected. Duplicate submissions will not be considered.”

The bursary targets multiple communities across Warri South, Sapele, Okpe, Uvwie, Udu, and selected areas of Edo State, including Ikpoba-Okha, Ajoki, Ologbo, and Kolokolo.
