CU3E blends faith, Afrobeats in new EP ‘I AM’

From the heart of Nigeria’s Niger Delta, Ese Emeka Emmanuel — known professionally as CUBE (CU3E) — is a singer, songwriter, composer, and producer whose music sits at the crossroads of faith and everyday life. A natural storyteller with a soulful voice and a unique gift, he delivers gospel-rooted messages of hope, faith, and resilience in a way that feels like contemporary popular music. His songs carry the groove and energy of Afrobeats and R&B, yet beneath the rhythm lies the depth of Nigerian highlife and the reassurance of gospel truth.

In a music landscape that often separates the sacred from the mainstream, CU3E blurs that line — offering a sound that uplifts without preaching and inspires without losing its pulse.

With his recent seven-track EP I AM, released on July 29, 2025, CU3E delivers a carefully crafted body of work in which mainstream songcraft and explicit gospel themes coexist without dilution. The project opens with “The Blessing,” a spoken-word introduction that frames the EP as a family testimony — a recording of parental blessings, admonitions, and prayers that set the emotional tone.

It moves into “Ebenezer,” a direct prayer-song built around requests for blessing, love, and mercy, delivered as devotion rather than metaphor. Later, “Light of the World” serves as a declarative piece, with lyrics announcing an awakening and a readiness to step fully into what is rightfully his.

Musically, I AM favors highlife-inflected guitar motifs, layered vocal harmonies, and steady Afrobeats-inspired percussion. Production choices keep the vocal message at the forefront, with uncluttered arrangements ensuring the devotional content remains central.

Taken together, the EP stands as a conscious statement where the intent is clear: faith and artistry can live side by side — and sound this good.
