Youths in Yorro Local Government Council of Taraba State have called for an urgent change in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership at the chairmanship level, citing concerns over representation, unity, and the party’s prospects in the forthcoming local government elections.
The demand was made during a recent visit by PDP members to the area, which the youths described as a turning point for grassroots engagement.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Abdulmumin Abubakar Nyaja of Yorro Concern Youth said the current leadership no longer reflects the aspirations of party members at the local level.
“We believe our respected Party Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, will take this heartfelt appeal seriously and convey it without delay to His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, Executive Governor of Taraba State.
The call is simple but crucial — change the leadership in Yorro LGA to one that truly represents the people’s will and aspirations,” Nyaja said.
The youths warned that failing to act could lead to disunity, weaken party structures, and cause the loss of loyal members who feel marginalised. They stressed their continued loyalty to the PDP but insisted on fairness, inclusivity, and genuine representation.
“This is not just a political statement,” Nyaja added. “It is a call for action, unity, and renewal in our dear local government area. We trust our leaders will make the right decision for the good of the party and the people.”
