Mavin Records opens applications for Future Five cohort 3

Frontline label, Mavin Records, has opened applications for its 2025 Mavin Future Five, an executive talent accelerator programme designed to equip future leaders in the African music landscape with the necessary skills required for successful careers.

Launched in 2021, the program bridges the gap between ambition and practical experience. The results of its two cohorts, with over 3,200 applications and 10 selected fellows mentored across various music business aspects speak loudly. Notably, 80 percent of its alumni are now working across Africa’s entertainment ecosystem.

Speaking on the empowerment programme, Founder and CEO of Mavin Global, Michael Collins Ajereh, known professionally as Don Jazzy, said, “people often talk about ‘the next big artist,’ but rarely about the next great executive. That’s what we’re changing. Talent is Nigeria’s greatest export, including the thinkers, builders, and strategists behind the music.”

He stated that the 2025 edition is open to young creatives and professionals aged between 18 and 25 across five pathways: Digital Intelligence, New Business, Content Licensing, Audience Development, and Artist Development. Selected fellows will work with Mavin’s team for six months, participating in live campaigns and receiving mentorship from top industry executives.

Also commenting on the programme, President and COO of Mavin Global, Tega Oghenejobo, notes that Mavin Future Five is part of how we innovate and stay young at heart. “It’s our way of investing in the African music landscape’s future. By equipping young minds with the right tools, the ripple effect strengthens the ecosystem and raises the bar.”
