Singer Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has said the death of his close friend and music partner, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad, changed the way he now sees life.
Shmurda spoke during a recent livestream with TikToker Joblaq on Friday, where he admitted that the tragedy forced him into a period of self-reflection and rediscovery.
According to him, Mohbad’s passing on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances, has made him approach life with greater clarity.
He said, “RIP Mohbad. After he passed away my brain reset, everything changed. The way I see things in life also changed.
“There’s a time that our parents use to tell us when we misbehave that, ‘You’re misbehaving, right? Don’t worry, very soon you will understand.’
“I’m currently in that phase where I’m starting to understand. I have understood certain things.”
Bella Shmurda, who had collaborated with Mohbad on several street anthems, added that he is now in a phase of understanding life lessons he once overlooked.
