The Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity and Development Initiative (ACPUDI) has expressed shock and grief over the passing of the Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (rtd.), who died in the early hours of Sunday, August 17, 2025.
In a condolence message issued in Kaduna, ACPUDI Director General, Dr. Abdullahi Idris, paid glowing tribute to the late monarch, describing him as a man of sterling virtues whose humility, wisdom, and leadership qualities endeared him to his people and all who came in contact with him.
Dr. Idris noted that the late General was one of the respected northern leaders whose wise counsel and guidance greatly supported ACPUDI’s mission to promote peace, unity, and development across the region.
He recalled the Emir’s illustrious military career, which saw him serve as Military Governor of Bauchi State before ascending the throne of Zuru, where he continued to distinguish himself as a patriot, unifier, and dedicated servant of the people.
“His patriotism and sense of duty never wavered,” Idris said. “Even in retirement, he served his people with dignity and selflessness as a first-class traditional ruler, leaving behind a legacy of honour and service.”
The ACPUDI Director General prayed to Almighty God to forgive the late Emir’s shortcomings, grant his soul eternal rest, and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.
