The University of Jos (Unijos) has released its departmental cut-off marks alongside the commencement of online registration for the 2025 Post-UTME/Direct Entry (DE) screening. The exercise will run from August 18 to September 30, 2025.
According to a statement signed by the Registrar, Dr. Rejoice James Songden, only candidates who selected Unijos as their first choice in the 2025 UTME/DE and meet the prescribed cut-off points are eligible to apply.
The university fixed the general minimum UTME requirement at 180, but announced higher thresholds for several competitive programmes. The cut-off marks include:
Medicine and Surgery – 250
Law – 230
Nursing Sciences – 220
Computer Science – 220
Mass Communication – 200
The statement further noted that candidates who do not meet the departmental cut-off marks are advised to effect a change of course on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
Online Registration Process
The screening will be conducted entirely online through the university’s portal: portal.unijos.edu.ng. The process involves two steps:
Account Creation – Applicants must create an account using their JAMB registration number, email address, and a password.
Payment and Submission – After activating the account via an email link, candidates are required to pay the screening fee, print their payment receipt, and download the screening summary.
Mandatory O’Level Upload
Unijos reiterated that all candidates must upload their O’level results to JAMB CAPS before registering. Failure to do so, the university warned, could result in disqualification or delayed processing of admission.
Additionally, successful candidates are required to accept admission offers on JAMB CAPS within four weeks of release for them to be valid on the university portal.
