Governor Francis Nwifuru on Monday stated that his government will continue to build a state anchored in prosperity and harmony, noting that the Izzi spirit of diligence and perseverance remains a guiding force for the wider Ebonyi family.

In a goodwill message to mark the Izzi New Year festival in Abakaliki, Nwifuru noted that the Ojiji Festival is not just a celebration of the harvest season, but also a reaffirmation of who we are as a people and people blessed with the values of industry, tenacity of purpose, unity, and shared heritage.

Nwifuru, who hails from Izzi, displayed his immense joy and a deep sense of pride, saying, “I felicitate my dear kinsmen, the great people of Izzi, on the auspicious occasion of our Ojiji Izzi New Yam Festival.

“It reminds us of our forebears who, through hard work and resilience, laid the foundations upon which we continue to thrive till this day.

“As we gather in thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest, let us also renew our commitment to the ideals of peace, brotherhood, and collective progress.

“The Izzi spirit of diligence and perseverance continues to inspire the wider Ebonyi family, and I remain confident that together, through this, we will keep building a state anchored on prosperity and harmony.

“On this joyous occasion, I extend warm felicitations to every son and daughter of Izzi, at home and in the diaspora.

“I pray this year’s festival ushers in abundant blessings, renewed unity, and greater accomplishments for our clan and Ebonyi State at large.”
